Slow Dancing in a Burning Room

By: John Mayer

Special thanks to PRS Guitars for sending me out a Silver Sky SE for this video! I was blown away when I first plugged this guitar in. It came to me already intonated, had perfect action, and sounded like a million bucks. It really made me want to dig in to those bluesy bends, especially in the outro solo. Mayer himself is correct in mentioning that you can really hear the high frequencies of this instrument when you play the lower notes and that’s what makes it such a great instrument. This video is my interpretation of the Live in LA version of this song. I checked out hand positionings and everything from the videos. This is how I believed he played it. An isolated guitar track would have helped me more but there isn’t really one out there that separates the guitar well from everything else going on in the mix. The production of this tune was just amazing and no wonder it gets the recognition it rightfully deserves. Such a great song. I’ve been listening to all of your requests and I am working each day to get them in on this page. Are there any more John Mayer songs that you would like to see here? Leave a comment below!

Isolated TRACKS (mp3)

Here are the drums, bass and other background tracks to jam along to Slow Dancing in a Burning Room. I've also included all of my isolated guitar tracks in case you really want to hear what's going on. Isolated tracks are normally very difficult to find online, and can be very helpful in cracking a difficult solo tab.
