For this one I tried to find some examples of the original band live footage as some of Heart’s more recent touring guitarist seem to do their own thing. For the older footage, they just go wild with the harmonics so it was hard to tell exactly what was going on. Fortunately there are interviews with Roger Fisher about the origins of the riff and this super cool technique he does were he basically pinch harmonics multiple open strings making sure the pick scrapes right above the neck pickup. This gives you a really cool sounding effect and you can make it sound like hitting harmonics all over the neck just by adjusting your pick attack. I tried to incorporate that whenever I could. I included both guitars as they definitely weave together to make a pretty intricate sound for a seemingly basic riff. Very cool playing in this one!
