Carry On Wayward Son

A classic rock staple, with a super fun main riff and some awesome leads. A lot of great stuff to learn here.

Our boy Jason Sheppard is doing his best Randy Marsh impression, playing through a Vaux amp.

For the first verse, we are are playing the riff just as Randy did in the South Park episode. Which works out perfect for playing along – there’s actually no guitar in that section of the studio recording.

The rest of the verses has acoustic guitar that’s pretty low in the mix. Rick Beato’s “What Makes This Song Great?” video breaks down all of these pieces of the song really well. Check that out.
