Hey everyone! This song is in Drop D tuning. My apologies for forgetting to include that at the start of the tab and I hope you were not confused attempting this with Standard Tuning
Everything aside, this song absolutely rocks. Considering this is a Slash only tab, I have to give Dave Kushner credit for his work on this tune also. Especially with all the slimy pick scratching Slither effects and his rhythm which really fills out what Slash is doing. To ensure accuracy, I checked out some live videos of the song to make sure the positioning on the fretboard is correct. The only different thing that comes to my mind is that I may be changing up which fingers I’m using with the powerchords and chorus riffs, etc. And I think with that really fast pentatonic run in the Solo, Slash uses his pinky finger and I use my third finger. It’s just a feel thing for me. If you’re interested, there’s a great video by Slash himself with Guitar World that’s worth checking out on YouTube. He plays the main riff with Drop D octave shapes at one point, which I didn’t include in the tab because I didn’t see him play it like that in any live shots and I also couldn’t hear it clearly in the studio mix. But it may very well be there. Lastly, I wanted to let you know that there will be more Velvet Revolver tabs in the future. So, what should be the next Velvet Revolver tab? Let me know your suggestions!
