Whole Lotta Love

By: Led Zeppelin

In the studio recording, there are times where Page slides into the riff on the low E string from the 5th fret. Other times, he doesn’t slide. So I took both approaches with the tab.

With the Chorus, I listened to an isolated guitar track. I’ve seen many tabs use a D5 chord, however it doesn’t sound like that to my ears. It sounds like he is barring his finger on the A,D, and G strings (sometimes B as well) and playing a D5 with an E bass note. I’ve checked out his playing from live videos also and it appears he is doing that as well. Live, perhaps moreso hitting 7th fret B string when he changes from the E5 Chord.

I decided to shorten the mid section. I realize Page is doing some black magic stuff there. And I know most of us don’t want to mess around with that. So I decided to cut to the solo.

If you are curious about my tone settings, I used the Whole Lotta Page preset which comes with Amplitube 5. I made some modifications and they are in my tone screenshots available on my Patreon page if you are interested in checking that out.

Enjoy and best of luck with the song guys!

Tone Screenshots

Here are some of my screenshots, so that you can see exactly how I achieved my Whole Lotta Love guitar tones. I matching the solo and rhythm section tones from the Led Zeppelin recording as closely as possible. Patrons can reach out with any tone questions you may have.

Isolated TRACKS (mp3)

Here are the drums, bass and other background tracks to jam along to Whole Lotta Love. I've also included all of my isolated guitar tracks in case you really want to hear what's going on. Isolated tracks are normally very difficult to find online, and can be very helpful in cracking a difficult solo tab.
